Fans of Scandinavian detective stories have a new topic for discussion. The series 'Harry Hole', based on Jo Nesbø's novel 'Pentagram', is already being called one of the strongest crime premieres of the year due to its tense plot, dark atmosphere, and charismatic main character.

At the center of the story is experienced Oslo police detective Harry Hole, played by Tobias Santelmann. He possesses an outstanding analytical mind and can think like a criminal, which helps him solve the most complex cases. However, his brilliant professional qualities are accompanied by a difficult personality and a struggle with alcohol addiction, causing the detective to constantly face problems both at work and in his personal life.

The plot begins with a series of brutal murders that shock Oslo. An unknown criminal leaves a sinister mark at the crime scenes — a red diamond in the shape of a pentagram. Each new victim becomes part of a carefully crafted game, and the investigation gradually turns into a deadly hunt, where the stakes rise with each episode.

However, the maniac is not the only problem for the protagonist. Simultaneously, Harry must confront a corrupt colleague, Tom Waaler, who hides his own crimes and poses a threat just as significant as the serial killer. This adds multiple layers of intrigue to the investigation.

The first season consists of nine episodes and features a strong cast. In addition to Tobias Santelmann, the series stars Joel Kinnaman, Pia Tjelta, Ellen Helland, Anders Baasmo Christiansen, and Maxim Bon-Boshud. Their characters do not appear as straightforward heroes or villains, which makes the story even more realistic and tense.

Critics particularly note the atmosphere of classic northern noir: the cold landscapes of Norway, the dark visual style, psychological tension, and complex moral dilemmas. It is this combination of detective intrigue and deep character exploration that helps the series stand out among many contemporary crime projects.

'Harry Hole' will be interesting not only to fans of Jo Nesbø's works but also to all lovers of intellectual thrillers, where the investigation of a crime is closely intertwined with the internal struggles of the characters. Thanks to its intricate plot and unpredictable twists, the series keeps viewers engaged almost until the very end.
