Fans of the famous book series "Warriors" have received the long-awaited news: Erin Hunter's cult fantasy saga will receive its first official animated adaptation. The project is being developed by the British company Coolabi Group and the Chinese platform Tencent Video. The premiere of the animated series is scheduled for 2028.
The future project will be based on the first cycle of books "Warriors: The Prophecies Begin," which started the story of the popular franchise. Viewers will learn about the lives of several clans of wild cats who fight for territory, honor, and survival, following the ancient traditions of their ancestors. The central character will be a domestic kitten named Rusty, who will embark on a journey from a novice to one of the most respected leaders of the tribe.
The creators of the project have brought in well-known specialists from the animation industry. The showrunner is A.C. Bradley, who has worked on Marvel projects, and the director is Emmy Award winner Rodrigo Blaas, known for the animated series "Trollhunters." Production is already underway in collaboration with the Spanish studio El Guiri Studios.
The "Warriors" series remains one of the most successful children's and young adult book franchises in the world. Over the years, the books have been translated into dozens of languages, and total sales have exceeded 90 million copies.
