This week, a Spring Excursion Week will take place in Jurmala, during which traditional educational routes have been expanded this year, reported LETA Jurmala Tourist Information Bureau.
Most of the events in the program will be free, allowing everyone to find the most suitable way to get to know Jurmala better. There will be a fee for participation in some events.
The organizers note that this year's program also features a distinctly modern thematic focus – the emotional well-being of children, inner balance, and bodily experience. The relaxation and self-regulation session "Feel the Silence" offers calm activities with games, breathing techniques, and stories that promote concentration, while the workshop "Basics of Dance and Ballet for Girls" strengthens the sense of movement and body awareness in a playful manner.
The walk "From the Forest House to the Kemeri Hotel" introduces the main attractions of the Kemeri Park, allowing visitors to see layers of the resort's history in the spring landscape. Meanwhile, at the Forest House, families with children are invited to educational activities: "A Life That Needs Protection. The Latvian Red Book" will help familiarize them with rare and protected species, while "Crocodile – Not a Souvenir!" will explain nature conservation laws in an engaging way. The program is also complemented by practical workshops at Lake Kanieris, where participants can learn about the secrets of bat life, build bat houses, and take part in creating artificial duck nests.
Visitors to the summer house of Rainis and Aspazija are invited to the tour "The Secret of Rainis's Last Poem" – a touching story about the poet's last lines, their dedication, and personal mood.
Meanwhile, at the Dubulti Art Station, those interested in contemporary art can visit Janis Mitrevich's exhibition "L ELLE."
