On March 24, at 19:00, the Japanese taiko drumming ensemble 'Kodo' will perform at the 'Dailes' Theatre.
The ensemble 'Kodo' will present a new program titled 'Light'. The concert program is a tribute to light in a world that has become darker due to the pandemic and wars. In the Japanese Shinto tradition, priests and shamans called upon light with the help of giant drums at moments when it was most needed to illuminate the Earth and the human soul.
'Kodo' are masters of the Japanese taiko drumming. They have performed at the Olympic Games, the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony, the FIFA World Cup, and have recorded music for several Hollywood films. The ensemble combines centuries-old Japanese traditions of taiko drumming with modern, visual, and dramatic presentation.
