Scorpions Reissues Debut Album Lonesome Crow

In honor of their 60th anniversary, the iconic hard rock band Scorpions is reissuing their debut album Lonesome Crow.

The new version of the album Lonesome Crow will be remixed by Grammy Award-winning producer Hans-Martin Buff and is based on archival original master tapes from producer Conny Plank. In addition to streaming services, the album will be available for purchase as a limited edition on transparent vinyl in a gatefold and as a CD in a digital sleeve.

The album Lonesome Crow, released in 1972 as Scorpions' debut album, served as the soundtrack for the German anti-drug film "Das Kalte Paradies." Recorded in just seven days, this dark psychedelic album laid the foundation for the band's subsequent success. Their debut album is notably different from their later works, which focus on more melodic hard rock compared to the raw, almost progressive rock style of Lonesome Crow.

The legendary rock band was founded in 1965 by Rudolf Schenker, who remains the only constant member of the group. The most well-known lineup existed from 1978 to 1992 and included vocalist Klaus Meine, lead guitarist Matthias Jabs, bassist Francis Buchholz, and drummer Herman Rarebell. Throughout their career, Scorpions have released 19 studio albums, achieving significant commercial success and critical acclaim, selling over 100 million records worldwide.
