For a long time, it was hidden from the eyes of visitors.
From February 7 to March 14, access will be granted to Leonardo da Vinci's work in Milan — an unfinished wall and ceiling painting in the Sala delle Asse of the Sforza Castle. Visitors will be able to climb six-meter scaffolding and observe the work of restorers. In March, the hall will be closed for a year and a half.
The painting from 1498 had been hidden under plaster for centuries. In the 20th century, researchers confirmed Leonardo's authorship. In 2012, a restoration project was launched to prevent its deterioration.
