On January 7 at 15:00, the announcement of the nominees for the 'Golden Microphone 2026' award in the category 'Best Music Recording of Latvia' will take place at the St. Black bar and restaurant, which specializes in live music.
"This year, the 'Golden Microphone' award holds special significance as it marks the 30th anniversary of this prestigious brand. I am genuinely pleased that the event to announce the nominees this year will bring together both young and experienced artists who together shape and develop the Latvian music industry," emphasizes Patricia Rubene, chairwoman of the 'Golden Microphone' award.
During the event, five nominees will be announced from 16:
1. Hip-hop music album
2. Classical and vocal music album
3. Folk or ethnic music album.
4. Best video
5. Best live performance recording
6. Best debut album
7. Best song
8. Children's music album
9. Electronic and dance music album
10. Pop album
11. Indie or alternative music album
12. Traditional pop album
13. Best album design
14. Jazz, funk, or soul music album.
15. Inter-genre and instrumental music album
16. Rock or metal music album
The announcement of the nominees will also be accompanied by musical performances – Andris Erglis, Tipa, the indie and pop-rock band Dzirnavnieki, Samanta Tina, as well as the ensemble Sub Scriptum and Emilia Ermola will perform.
The 'Golden Microphone 2026' award ceremony for the 'Best Music Recording of the Year' in Latvia will take place on February 28, 2026, in Ventspils, at the Olympic Center 'Ventspils'.
