Is it true that a drop of nicotine can kill a horse?

More precisely, a few drops.

According to estimates by forensic experts, the lethal dose of nicotine for a human is approximately 0.8 mg per kilogram of body weight. For horses, this figure has not been specifically determined, but based on 'human' data, an animal weighing 500 kg could die from 0.4 g of nicotine.

The density of pure nicotine is almost equal to the density of water. If we consider the volume of a single drop to be 0.05 ml, then a horse would require only eight drops.

This estimate is likely even high, as the specific lethal dose of poisons of this type decreases with the increase in the size of the animal.
