Rather, dolphins are not afraid of sharks.
Most dolphins are smaller than large sharks and do not have such intimidating teeth. However, dolphins possess high speed, agility, and, most importantly, intelligence that allows them to act cohesively.
Even large sharks can find themselves defenseless against simultaneous ramming attacks from dolphins from different sides. In a one-on-one confrontation with a huge and powerful orca, sharks stand no chance.
Nevertheless, sharks do not fear dolphins and may attack them, especially if the dolphins are away from the pod, such as sick individuals or females with calves.
