Who Has the Most Teeth?

Mollusks.

If we consider teeth to be any hard structures in the oral cavity designed for grinding food, then the record holders are gastropod mollusks. They have a special organ — the radula, which resembles a grater in its structure and function. The grape snail has about 25,000 chitinous teeth on its radula, while some of its relatives have up to 75,000.

However, if we look at teeth in a narrower sense, as bony structures of a certain type (teeth of vertebrate animals), then the greatest number of teeth is observed in sharks. In the mouths of sharks, teeth are arranged in several rows, and their total number can reach 3,000 — that’s how many teeth the great white shark has.
