Love and Paws: Newlyweds in India File for Divorce After Their Pets« Fights

A married couple in India filed for divorce after nine months of living together. The reason is that their pets did not get along. The case has been referred to court, and psychologists are trying to save the relationship.

The story took place in the Indian city of Bhopal, reports India Today.

The couple approached the family court with a divorce petition after constant conflicts between their pets caused a rift in their relationship.

Before their wedding, the spouses were brought together by their shared love for animals: the husband had a dog, a rabbit, and an aquarium with fish, while the wife brought her cat when she moved into their shared home. Initially, their life together went without major issues, but soon the clashes between the pets led to regular arguments.

According to the wife, the husband's dog barks at her cat, frightening it and causing stress. The animal, under continuous tension, refuses to eat. The husband, in turn, complains that his wife's cat is also a handful. It shows aggression towards his dog and even tries to eat his aquarium fish.

In court, the couple was assigned a family counselor. He stated that he would try to help the couple find a compromise.
