Effective Fertilization for Cucumbers: Secrets of Successful Planting

Cucumbers are a popular crop among gardeners, and many are looking for ways to increase yields.

Experienced gardeners offer a method that solves two tasks: it protects plants from return frosts and provides them with nutrients.

The essence of the method is to place chopped grass, such as nettle, lamb's quarters, and dandelions without roots and seeds, into the hole when planting cucumbers. Compost or manure can also be used.

The grass, being underground, decomposes and gives off heat to the plant roots, helping them endure the cold more easily.

There are enough nutrients for the entire season, so additional fertilizers can be avoided during the growth process. A layer of soil or compost 10-15 centimeters thick should be left between the roots and the grass to prevent root burn.

Cucumbers are planted in a hole so that soil can be added as they grow. This promotes the development of a strong root system. When cool weather arrives, the plants can be covered with cut plastic bottles or non-woven material.
