Doctor Alexander Goryachev's tips for combating fatigue during the workday.

 

Many people feel drowsy and tired after lunch. This drop in energy levels in the middle of the day is related to the brain's circadian rhythm and is a natural process for the human body, as noted by the expert.

To feel more alert, the doctor recommends consuming protein and carbohydrate foods for lunch. For example, chicken breast with a side of grains or vegetables.

Carbohydrates provide the body with energy, while protein helps maintain focus and alertness, the doctor added.

The specialist also advises to move more. A walk after lunch or 10 minutes of exercise at the desk can improve circulation and boost energy levels. Additionally, Goryachev recommends giving up bad habits, especially smoking, as cigarette smoke contains many harmful substances, such as carbon monoxide, which reduces the amount of oxygen in the blood.

Work-related problems and emotional burnout can also lead to fatigue and drowsiness. Therefore, it is important to take steps to address work issues. First, one can talk to their supervisor, and then consult a psychologist, the doctor concluded.
