Nutritionist Jordan Hill claims that cinnamon can help lower blood sugar, which in turn contributes to lowering cholesterol. This was reported by Eating Well.
This spice is rich in antioxidants and has anti-inflammatory properties. It is especially beneficial for people prone to diabetes or already suffering from this disease.
Cinnamon is great for adding to tea, coffee, yogurt, soups, or dough. The nutritionist recommends using powdered cinnamon but not exceeding a dose of one teaspoon per day.
Hill also noted that cholesterol levels can be lowered with cayenne pepper, garlic, ginger, and turmeric.
