Many modern irons have a special vertical steaming mode; this treatment allows you to smooth out wrinkles and creases on the surface of the material without touching it with the iron. A fabric with slight creases can also be hung overnight or for several hours over a hot bath: the moisture and steam from the bath should help the material to straighten out.
