Hello, Diabetes!: 3 Products That Contribute to Increased Sugar Levels

Sugar is one of the key factors affecting health.

Diabetes is a widespread disease that significantly deteriorates the quality of life for many people.

Many are even unaware that they are at risk. It is important not only to monitor blood sugar levels but also to be aware of products that can significantly raise glucose levels in the blood after consumption.

In the blog of nutritionist Igor Botogovsky, three unexpected products that contribute to increased sugar levels were highlighted. To prevent diabetes, these should be excluded from the diet.

First of all, there is potato. It does not matter whether it is boiled or mashed. Sweet potato has an especially negative effect. This product is rich in vitamins and contains a small amount of fiber, but its carbohydrate content is as high as that of white potatoes.

Fruit juices, including freshly squeezed ones, are also among the products that raise sugar levels. Fruit juice contains no significant amount of fiber and nutrients, but one glass can have up to 45 grams of carbohydrates.

The third product that contributes to increased blood sugar is milk. This is especially true for cow's milk, which contains 12 grams of lactose in 200 ml. As an alternative, one can consider soy, flax, or almond milk.
