Family doctor, endocrinologist, and nutritionist Anastasia Samoilova stated that homemade dumplings can help in the fight against premature aging.
The reason lies in carnosine, a powerful antioxidant found in meat filling. It prevents the so-called "glycation" of proteins — a process that accelerates cell aging and contributes to the development of diseases. Beef, pork, and lamb are the richest sources of this antioxidant.
The doctor emphasizes that homemade dumplings are beneficial, while store-bought semi-finished products often contain excessive amounts of salt, spices, and stabilizers.
Samoilova recommends boiling dumplings rather than frying them, as the former method of preparation is the most beneficial for the body. Additionally, due to the high calorie content of the dish, it is important to maintain moderation: the optimal portion, according to the specialist, is 10-15 pieces.
