However, to achieve the best result, it is important to avoid one common mistake.

Most recipes mention using raw minced meat. But it is best to use pre-cooked meat instead.

Recipe for the Perfect Potato Casserole

The main secret lies in the necessity of pre-cooking the meat.

Boil 600 grams of beef. Pass the cooked product through a meat grinder along with a boiled onion.

The resulting mixture should be salted and heated in a frying pan for seven minutes. At this stage, the preparation of the meat filling is complete.

Next, you need to boil one kilogram of potatoes. Once the vegetable is ready and excess moisture is removed, turn it into puree. For this, you will need additional ingredients: half a cup of milk and one raw egg, as well as a potato masher.

Divide the finished potato mass into two equal parts. Then “assemble” the layers in a baking dish in the following order: potato — meat — potato. It is recommended to cover the surface of the dish with a raw egg.

Bake in the oven for thirty minutes at a temperature of 200 degrees or slightly higher. A golden crust will be a sign of readiness.

A casserole with a filling that has been pre-cooked is characterized by tenderness, juiciness, and rich flavor.
