Recipe No. 5. Coffee with Cocoa and Cinnamon (for Diabetics and Others)
Ingredients
1 heaping teaspoon of coffee
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon regular cocoa
1/2 teaspoon xylitol (optional, for those who like it sweet)
milk – regular or lactose-free.
Preparation
1. In a glass, place coffee, cinnamon, and cocoa, pour boiling water up to 4/5 of the height of the vessel.
2. After 2-3 minutes, add milk and, if desired, sugar, and stir well.
This drink will be a great start to the day. The cocoa content helps compensate for the loss of magnesium, which is washed out of the body by coffee, and cinnamon helps lower blood sugar levels, which may rise slightly after a hearty breakfast. Adding birch sugar will not affect blood sugar levels, making this drink suitable for diabetics.
