The chef revealed three main mistakes when boiling dumplings that everyone makes

Dumplings are extremely popular, and families often make them together, freezing them for later preparation for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. However, many make mistakes that prevent the dish from turning out well. Brand chef Nikolai Bobrov shared tips on how to boil perfect dumplings.

Nikolai Bobrov claims that there are three key mistakes to avoid when boiling dumplings.

“You shouldn’t let the dumplings thaw. They boil perfectly when they remain well-frozen. For example, my grandmother would bring dumplings from the balcony in winter just before dropping them into boiling water. If you take dumplings out of the freezer in advance, they may thaw and are likely to stick together or tear during the boiling process,” the chef explains.

The next common mistake that Russians make is boiling dumplings over too high or, conversely, too low heat. Nikolai Bobrov advises cooking dumplings over medium heat, ensuring even and constant movement of the water during boiling. This will help prevent sticking to the bottom and maintain the integrity of the dumplings.

“Many people think that frozen products cannot cook quickly, so they try to boil dumplings longer. They say, just in case. But the ideal boiling time is only 5 minutes. You shouldn’t keep them in the water longer. After this time, be sure to remove the dumplings with a large slotted spoon, not a regular spoon or ladle. All the water will drain away, and the dumplings will remain whole and juicy,” the chef shares a secret.
