The belief that eating less is enough for effective weight loss is mistaken: strict restrictions provide more of a short-term effect due to water loss. This was stated by dietitian Angelika Duval.
According to her, when returning to a normal diet against the backdrop of stress, extra pounds will start to return more quickly. She added that one of the common mistakes of those losing weight is a complete refusal of sweets.
"The brain and internal systems need glucose. It is important not to exclude it completely, but to choose the right sources, such as fruits. One fruit a day between meals will help maintain blood sugar levels and prevent overeating," Duval explained.
The doctor advised against getting carried away with protein bars and cookies, as they contain sugar substitutes that overload the liver and pancreas. Additionally, one should not completely exclude carbohydrates, as this can lead to fatigue, mood deterioration, and vascular problems.
