The mother who drowned her child in Moscow fled from Nizhny Novgorod after a high-profile pedophilia case, according to "Baza". Her daughter accused her stepfather of rape and demanded 40 million rubles (40,000 euros).

Alexandra Shalina moved from Yakutia to the Nizhny Novgorod region with her daughter. There, she married a man who already had two sons. Soon, the couple had a child together, but their marriage did not last long and ended in divorce. The ex-husband did not kick the woman and children out onto the street — they continued to live in his house in the village of Diveevo.

In 2024, Alexandra reported to the police that her ex-husband had raped his stepdaughter for five years, who was 13 years old at the time. The man was detained. Friends and acquaintances are convinced that he was framed, as the woman wanted to appropriate her ex-husband's house.

At the same time, Alexandra reported that she was beaten by the man's older son — the incident allegedly occurred in the garage. The young man was saved by footage from surveillance cameras: it showed Alexandra hitting herself with a hammer. However, this did not prevent the investigation from gathering sufficient evidence of the stepfather's guilt in the rape.

Last year, journalists filmed a report about the stepdaughter wanting to receive a multi-million compensation from her stepfather for the purchase of an apartment in Moscow. After media attention, Alexandra expressed her desire to move to the capital and change her surname. The father of the deceased child is still in pre-trial detention. Investigators from the capital's Investigative Committee are currently interrogating the woman.

Earlier, the media reported that in Moscow, a mother brutally dealt with her five-year-old child — the woman strangled him with a belt and then drowned the baby in the bathtub.

The body of the five-year-old boy was found in an apartment in a residential building on Brateyevskaya Street. According to "Baza", the 46-year-old mother — a native of Yakutia, Alexandra Sh. — stated that in the morning she went to church, then returned home and decided to kill her son so that "he would go to heaven". Preliminary reports indicate that the woman has mental disorders.

To do this, the woman filled the bathtub, brought the child there, threw a rope around his neck, and strangled him until he stopped showing signs of life. After the murder, she called an ambulance herself.

A criminal case has been opened for the murder of a minor — the investigation is being monitored by the Moscow prosecutor's office.
