"RUSNANO" accuses the former executives of "unreasonable and dishonest actions and inaction."
The Arbitration Court of Moscow has arrested the funds of Anatoly Chubais, former Minister of Economy Yakov Urinson, and other former managers of "RUSNANO". This information is recorded in the court's electronic registry.
Judge Anna Petrukhina made this decision as part of protective measures in the lawsuit of "RUSNANO" against the former leadership of the corporation.
Earlier today, it became known that "RUSNANO" filed a lawsuit in the Arbitration Court of Moscow against Chubais and 12 other former managers for the recovery of 11.9 billion rubles in damages. The claims are related to investments in a project to create magnetoresistive random access memory (MRAM) in collaboration with Crocus Technology.
"Since the individuals against whom this claim is made are not located in the territory of the Russian Federation, which indicates the absence of guarantees for the enforcement of the court act in this case, and the high risk of the Defendants concealing property and causing significant damage to JSC 'RUSNANO' (over 11 billion rubles), this necessitates the adoption of protective measures," the ruling states.
"RUSNANO" accuses the former executives of "unreasonable and dishonest actions and inaction." According to the plaintiff, at the start of the project in 2012, the defendants deliberately ignored technological risks and did not create mechanisms to protect investments, violating internal regulations.
The main claims, as follows from the lawsuit's arguments, relate to the period after 2014. "RUSNANO" asserts that by 2014–2016 it became clear that the technology had no industrial application and that all project milestones were missed.
Former head of "RUSNANO" Anatoly Chubais, who left the territory of Russia at the beginning of the special military operation, is currently in Israel.
The Arbitration Court also noted that besides Chubais, Udaltsov has also left the territory of the Russian Federation; and criminal cases have been initiated against Kiselev and Podolsky. The former has left Russia and is wanted internationally, while the latter is under arrest.
