Singer Eyal Golan announced on his Instagram blog that he is the "famous singer" against whom a police complaint has been filed alleging sexual crimes. "I want to stop the rumors and tell you that it is about me. I am not hiding, I am not concealing. I am informing you that this is about extortion," he wrote.
The singer claims that he has been subjected to blackmail for several months. "A ten-year-old story that suddenly 'surfaced' is fabricated from beginning to end," he asserts. Golan states that he has evidence that he has been slandered.
The woman who filed the complaint commented on Golan's statement through her lawyer. She claims that the attempt to present the accusation against him as blackmail or defamation is an attempt to intimidate her and silence her.
The police are investigating the complaint of sexual crimes filed against the famous singer and individuals from his inner circle. Channel Keshet-12 reported that the incident at the center of the investigation occurred several years ago. The complainant stated that she had a business relationship with the singer until one day, during another meeting, he took off his pants and engaged in sexual acts.
Another episode involving the singer's friends occurred in Eilat. The complainant alleges that she was invited to a meeting at a hotel where a drug was slipped into her drink, after which one of the attendees sexually assaulted her despite her resistance. The complainant claims that she has witnesses.
The channel's report noted that due to the large number of episodes being investigated, several police units are involved in the investigation. The prosecution is overseeing the investigation.
