Newcomers were humiliated; for example, threads were tied to the genitals of young men, forcing them to compete as in tug-of-war.
The loud story of a student construction team, where young people were forced to undress and engage in various sexual practices, has continued.
The activities of the construction team 'Danko' have been suspended, and the team has been removed from the headquarters of the university's student teams, the agency reported. In addition, a working group has been created to prepare a concept for the development of student teams at the university.
Criminal cases were not initiated after complaints about sexualized abuse in the construction team, and no reports of crimes were received by the investigative units in St. Petersburg, the prosecutor's office reported.
The scandal surrounding the events in 'Danko' erupted when 'Fontanka' published the account of 21-year-old student Sonya. The girl encountered 'hazing' in the construction team in the summer of 2024. According to Sonya, newcomers were humiliated; for example, threads were tied to the genitals of young men, forcing them to compete as in tug-of-war, while girls were hit on the buttocks with a 30-centimeter dildo. One young man was ordered to insert an anal plug, while another was forced to wash the floor with a rag wedged between his buttocks. There was also allegedly a competition in 'Danko' for the 'best butt' based on photographs.
Sonya faced an equally humiliating ordeal — simultaneously smoking, masturbating, and defecating, while another girl was supposed to film her on video. According to the girl, formally, newcomers were not forced to do all of the above. However, young people witnessed what was happening, fell under its influence, and began to perceive it as a norm.
The girl filed two complaints — after which an inspection arrived at 'Danko', seizing sex toys and lists of humiliating tasks. After that, Sonya became an outcast in the team. She was not spoken to and was called 'weak and offended'.
Upon learning of the torturous system in the construction team, Nina Ostanina sent a deputy inquiry to the St. Petersburg prosecutor's office, demanding 'maximum transparency in the investigation'.
