The Riga City Court sentenced the accused in the murder case of insolvency administrator Martins Bunkus — Viktor Krivoshey — to nine months in prison, as reported by the LETA agency in court.

The prosecution explained that on September 26, 2024, a regular open hearing was held at the Riga City Court regarding a criminal case, during which the accused Krivoshey, motivated by hooliganism, loudly interrupted the speech of prosecutor Rimantas Kuzma during the debates, using coarse language.

He also disregarded the presiding judge's remark about violating procedural order by speaking without permission. Despite the warning, the accused continued to behave loudly and aggressively, swearing and accusing the prosecutor of lying and corruption.

Since he did not comply with the court's instructions to cease his unlawful behavior and continued to disrupt the proceedings, the presiding judge decided to remove him from the courtroom.

To escort the accused out of the hearing room, a State Police officer was called. Meanwhile, as emphasized by the prosecution, the accused demonstrated a sense of impunity and continued to express coarse insults towards the prosecutor.

When the accused was being led out of the courtroom, he spat at prosecutor Rimantas Kuzma.

The first instance court found Russian citizen Krivoshey guilty of murdering administrator of insolvency Martins Bunkus and sentenced him to life imprisonment. The sentence is currently being appealed in the Riga District Court.
