Over the week, fuel prices in the capitals of the Baltic states changed differently. While in Riga gasoline and diesel rose by more than 3%, in Tallinn prices continued to decline, and Vilnius retained its status as the city with the most expensive fuel in the region.
In the gas stations of the Baltic states, the situation with fuel prices has been mixed over the past week. In Riga, the price of gasoline and diesel fuel has risen, while in Tallinn, both types of fuel have become cheaper. In Vilnius, gasoline has become cheaper, while diesel, on the contrary, has increased in price.
Among the three Baltic capitals, gasoline remains the most expensive in Vilnius. At the end of the week, a liter of 95 octane gasoline there cost 1.819 euros. In Riga, the price reached 1.894 euros per liter, increasing by 3.3% over the week, while in Tallinn, gasoline decreased to 1.765 euros.
The most noticeable increase in Latvia occurred specifically over the last week. For motorists, this means additional expenses at the next refueling, especially for those who regularly use personal transport.
Diesel fuel also became more expensive in Riga. Its price rose by 3.4% and reached 1.814 euros per liter. In Vilnius, diesel cost 1.879 euros, which is 2.1% more than a week earlier. At the same time, in Tallinn, diesel decreased by 2.7% to 1.755 euros per liter.
What is important to know: by the end of the week, Tallinn emerged as the city with the cheapest gasoline and diesel among the capitals of the Baltic states, while Vilnius maintained its lead for the highest prices for both types of fuel.
The price of autogas in Riga changed even more noticeably. Over the week, it increased by 10.1% and reached 0.985 euros per liter.
For comparison, in Vilnius and Tallinn, the price of autogas remained unchanged over the week at 0.919 and 0.98 euros per liter, respectively.
Thus, against the backdrop of falling prices in Estonia, Riga showed the most significant increase in fuel costs among the capitals of the Baltic states over the past week.
