Airlines across Europe are reducing prices on summer flights in an effort to regain the interest of tourists who have become more cautious in planning vacations due to concerns about disruptions in air travel. This was reported by the Financial Times.

According to industry sources, some travelers are postponing their bookings, fearing a possible shortage of aviation fuel amid global instability. This is already affecting demand dynamics in the tourism sector.

Price analysis has shown that since early April, the cost of tickets to several popular destinations in Southern Europe has significantly decreased. In particular, this concerns routes to Nice, Barcelona, and Palma, where price drops reached 10% or more, and in some cases, up to 40%.

Airlines and travel companies note that the market has effectively entered a phase of competition for passenger trust. According to industry representatives, people are booking trips later than usual, prompting carriers to stimulate demand with discounts.

Some major airlines have already announced that they will not impose additional fuel surcharges on previously purchased tickets, trying to alleviate passenger anxiety and stabilize sales.

Analysts warn that the situation remains unstable: with further increases in uncertainty, a shortage of seats and rising prices may occur closer to the season. At the same time, experts believe that a mass cancellation of flights is not expected, and most scheduled flights will be carried out.
