The Latvian state postal company "Latvijas Pasts" is entering the Estonian market and establishing subsidiaries in Estonia and Lithuania to create a unified network of parcel lockers and parcel delivery in the Baltic countries.
This is a strategic step for the company, aimed at offering e-commerce and parcel recipients more convenient, faster, and reliable delivery options across the region.
In Estonia, the company will operate under the brand "Pasts." According to the plan, operations will begin in the second half of 2026, when the creation of its own network of parcel lockers will be launched.
As a result of the expansion, online stores will be able to use a single delivery partner across all three Baltic countries. For parcel recipients, this means more flexibility and convenience in receiving shipments.
According to the Chairman of the Board of "Latvijas Pasts" Girts Rudzitis, the company aims to become a reliable long-term partner that understands and takes into account the needs of the local market.
"Estonians and Latvians are good neighbors, and we strive to be the same kind of logistics partner in Estonia: always nearby when needed and someone you can rely on. We want to create a strong logistics network in Estonia while simultaneously developing long-term relationships with e-commerce companies and customers, supporting growth throughout the Baltic region," said Rudzitis.
For the Board Member of "Pasts OÜ" Meelike Päälberg, the presence in the Estonian market means the opportunity to build the service from the ground up so that it becomes a natural part of people's everyday shopping experience.
"What inspires me the most is the opportunity to build a company from scratch in such a way that our service works smoothly and almost seamlessly for people. Our goal is to make using the parcel locker as simple and natural as the purchase process itself," said Päälberg.
The new subsidiaries in Estonia and Lithuania will be responsible for developing the local infrastructure of parcel lockers and collaborating with e-commerce companies and logistics partners. In the first phase, the company will focus on covering major cities and key regions with its network of parcel lockers.
In recent years, "Latvijas Pasts" has actively invested in modernizing its services. Since the beginning of 2025, the company has created the largest network of parcel lockers in Latvia, updated the service environment, and invested in automating processes. Additionally, in the latest ranking by the Universal Postal Union, the company was recognized as the most reliable postal service in Europe.
The company's international expansion also supports a broader strategy in logistics and e-commerce. As one of the important areas of development, "Latvijas Pasts" processes e-commerce goods arriving from third countries in Riga, preparing shipments for final delivery to Central and Northern Europe, including the Baltic countries.
