In two months, Latvia produced 4.441 million liters of alcoholic beverages (excluding beer). This is 40.4% less compared to the same period in 2025, according to data on excise goods turnover summarized by the State Revenue Service (VID).
A decrease in production volumes has been recorded in several categories:
• production of intermediate products with an alcohol content of up to 15% decreased by 7.2 times;
• fermented beverages up to 6% — by 3.7 times;
• in the category of other alcoholic beverages — by 42.2%;
• intermediate products with an alcohol content of 15% to 22% — by 57.8 times.
At the same time, growth has been noted in the production of fermented beverages with an alcohol content above 6% (by 8 times) and wine (by 3.2 times).
When assessing production by the content of absolute alcohol, the total volume decreased by 40.1%.
In two months, 433,260 liters of wine, 208,590 liters of fermented beverages with an alcohol content of up to 6%, 351,890 liters of fermented beverages with an alcohol content above 6%, 91,430 liters of intermediate products (up to 15%), 650 liters of intermediate products (from 15% to 22%), and 3.355 million liters of other alcoholic beverages were produced — 3.355 million liters.
It is worth noting that in 2025, Latvia produced 46.392 million liters of alcohol (excluding beer), which is 5% more than in 2024.
