Lufthansa Flight Attendants Will Not Serve Passengers on Friday

Flight attendants and stewards of the German airline Lufthansa have announced a strike scheduled for Friday, April 10, which threatens to disrupt the transportation of passengers returning from the Easter holidays, Bloomberg reports.

The strike is a result of months of protracted negotiations over a new collective labor agreement.

The UFO union stated that Lufthansa has not made any proposals that could serve as a basis for negotiations.

UFO reported that 94% of members who participated in the vote supported the strike after the negotiations broke down. The strike will affect all flights from Frankfurt and Munich airports.

"We fully understand that this may cause disruptions for people returning from vacation, and we sincerely regret this. However, this situation could have been avoided – the responsibility lies with Lufthansa, which has yet to present a proposal ready for discussion," said UFO union chairman Joachim Vasquez Bürger.
