The Central Communication Port (CPK), which will become the largest airport in Poland, will create 35,100 jobs on the opening day. Another 2,000 people will work on high-speed railway projects. This is stated on the Port Polska website.
The Port Polska investment program includes the construction of a new airport and an integrated railway system, including a high-speed railway (HSR), as well as new roads around the airport. The opening is scheduled for 2032.
The strategic investments of Port Polska will become one of the key drivers of economic and social development in Poland until 2050.
With the increase in passenger traffic, the total number of employees could reach 45,300 by 2042 and 53,300 by 2050. Experts are concerned that there may be a shortage of personnel.
According to forecasts from the Central Statistical Office of Poland, by 2048, the working-age population (20-65 years) will decrease from 22.2 million to 18.5 million people – a drop of nearly 3.7 million. This will lead to a shortage of specialists in key sectors for the country – transport, railways, and aviation.
The overall demand for workers is divided into five main categories: airport operator, aviation sector, airport and terminal services, airport service agencies, and a broader ecosystem – businesses related to aviation and the service sector (hotels, offices, retail, passenger services).
The company plans to leverage the potential of workers from declining industries such as mining, traditional energy, and heavy industry, whose skills can be quickly adapted to modern transport infrastructure.
