The Celestial Empire has made its megacities the locomotives of economic growth.
In 2025, the gross regional product (GRP) of Sichuan Province and the megacity of Chongqing (Southwest China) surpassed the threshold of 10 trillion yuan (approximately 1.4 trillion USD), accounting for about 7.2 percent of the total volume of the entire country.
According to statistics for 2024–2026, economies such as Poland, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the Netherlands, Indonesia, Switzerland, and Argentina fall within the range of about $1–1.5 trillion (nominal).
Chongqing is a gigantic city in southwest China, founded at the confluence of the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers. In the city center is the pedestrian People's Square, which faces the facade of the dome-crowned People's Assembly Hall.
On the other side of the square is the "Three Gorges" Museum, where visitors can learn about the history of the construction of the dam of the same name and admire works of ancient art. Area: 82,339 km² (larger than Latvia). Population: 32,054,159 (larger than Venezuela or Ukraine).

In 2024, the production volume of integrated circuits in Chongqing grew by 9.3% to 45.5 billion yuan. In terms of power semiconductor production capacity, the city ranked among the top three in the country. Each year, a large volume of office, commercial, and residential real estate is built in Chongqing. The city is home to several of China's tallest skyscrapers, including Raffles City, Chongqing World Financial Center, and IFS Tower.
