Due to the growing demand from the population, the self-service laundromat network "Laundromat" plans to open several new locations in Riga and other cities in Latvia this year.
Among the first innovations are laundromats in Riga and Sigulda, which will open soon.
"In practice, it is easy to see the advantages of self-service laundromats. One washing machine can wash up to 17 kilograms of laundry, which saves time and electricity," explains Monta Purkane, head of marketing at Laundromat.
The company, established in Latvia, is growing rapidly: it was founded in 2022, the first branch opened in Jugla a year later, and now the company has 30 branches in ten cities in Latvia. Thus, services are available throughout Latvia — from Liepaja to Daugavpils. "Self-service laundromats are valued not only in Riga but also in the regions; for example, a successful project is a small point in Smiltene," says M. Purkane.
According to M. Purkane, the services are used by both young people and the elderly. "If people wonder how to wash a large amount of clothes in such a short time, about 30 minutes, the answer is simple — regular washing machines spend most of their time heating water and, of course, consume quite a lot of electricity. The machines from the Spanish company Girbau, which we use, operate with hot water supply."
The advantage of self-service laundromats lies not only in faster laundry washing but also in professional dryers that eliminate the need to dry laundry at home — it takes only about fifteen to twenty minutes.
"Overall, it can be said that self-service laundromats save time, money, and space in apartments. This is also a good solution when it is necessary to wash large textile items, such as curtains, mattresses, or bedspreads," emphasizes M. Purkane.
"Laundromat" washes not only in Latvia — the self-service laundromat network has begun to expand into Lithuania and Estonia.
