The volume of natural gas consumed in Latvia in 2025 decreased by 1.5% compared to 2024, according to data from the Central Statistical Bureau.
Last year, Latvia consumed 8.832 terawatt-hours (TWh) of natural gas, while in 2024 it consumed 8.962 TWh.
In December, Latvia consumed 1.04 TWh of natural gas, which is 1% less than in the same month of the previous year.
In January 2025, Latvia consumed 1.183 TWh of natural gas (-38.8%), in February - 1.654 TWh of natural gas (+24.2%), in March - 947,559 megawatt-hours (MWh) (+4.4%), in April - 554,795 MWh (+8.1%), in May - 345,520 MWh (+56.1%), and in June - 198,287 MWh, which is 13.8% more compared to the same month of the previous year.
In July, Latvia consumed 329,817 MWh of natural gas (-9.9%), in August - 357,829 MWh of natural gas (-18.8%), in September - 410,364 MWh (-20.4%), in October - 759,259 MWh (+32.3%), and in November - 1.051 TWh of natural gas, which is 12.4% more than in the corresponding month of the previous year.
It has already been reported that the volume of natural gas consumed in Latvia in 2024 increased by 6.6% compared to 2023, reaching 8.962 TWh.
