The purchase price of beef in Latvia in November 2025 decreased by 7% compared to October, according to data from the Ministry of Agriculture.
At the same time, beef prices had been rising rapidly – the average price of beef in the EU increased by 24.4% from November 2024 to October 2025, while in Latvia it rose by 34.7% compared to the period from November 2023 to October 2024.
The average purchase price of beef carcasses in Latvia in November last year was 523.49 euros per 100 kilograms, which is 13.9% lower than the average in the European Union (EU), where it was 608.33 euros.
The ministry indicates that beef production in Latvia decreased by 9.5% over the eight months of last year compared to the same period in 2024.
It could be worse – in Hungary and Romania, meat production increased by 26.7%, and in Malta, it rose by 25.4%.
