The tanker 'Progress' with Russian oil has lost control in the Mediterranean Sea. This was reported by Bloomberg agency.

According to the agency, the tanker is currently carrying about 730,000 barrels of Russian export oil Urals. The vessel is under sanctions due to the transportation of energy resources from Russia.

According to tracking data available to the agency, 'Progress' passed Algeria on January 21, after which it suddenly turned north and went off shipping routes. On the morning of January 22, its navigation status changed to 'Not Under Control,' and its speed dropped to about one knot (1.85 kilometers per hour — ed.). The vessel is currently drifting slowly in an easterly direction.
