Gas prices in Europe on the exchange market exceeded $450 per thousand cubic meters, setting a record for the first time since June 2025. This is demonstrated by trading data on the ICE.
Futures for the TTF index rose in value by 12.8 percent in one day, reaching $450 per thousand cubic meters, up from $398.4 the day before.
The last time exchange prices for gas were above the $450 mark was in June 2023.
Experts from Mind Energy previously explained the decline in gas prices in Europe in 2025 by a decrease in market demand and an increase in LNG supplies. Despite the EU countries' efforts to abandon Russian energy resources, their gas purchases from Russia have increased this year.
