Last year, Riga Airport served 7.111 million passengers, which corresponds to the level of 2024, the LETA agency found at the airport.
Compared to 2019, before the pandemic, the number of passengers served at Riga Airport last year was 9% lower.
In total, last year the airport served 63,155 flights, which also corresponds to the level of 2024, while the volume of processed air cargo increased by 7% to 20,147 tons.
The airport reported that out of 7.1 million passengers, 5.7 million started their journey at Riga Airport, while 1.4 million or 20% of passengers traveled through Riga Airport as a transit point last year.
In December 2025, Riga Airport served 558,800 passengers, which is 5% less than in December 2024.
In December, Riga Airport served 4,984 flights, which is 2% less than in December 2024, while the volume of cargo processed in December amounted to 2,290 tons, which is 17% more than in December 2024.
Last year, 57.2% of passengers traveled with the Latvian national airline airBaltic, while the second largest carrier was the Irish low-cost airline Ryanair, which transported 22.8% of passengers.
The most popular destinations last year were London in the UK, Helsinki in Finland, Oslo in Norway, and Stockholm in Sweden. The top ten destinations last year also included Vilnius and Tallinn, Frankfurt in Germany, Amsterdam in the Netherlands, Copenhagen in Denmark, and Istanbul in Turkey.
It has already been reported that in 2024, Riga Airport served 7.12 million passengers, which is 7% more than in 2023, but 8.7% less than in 2019, which preceded Covid-19.
