The creation of an international eco-city with manufacturing, administrative, and social infrastructure is underway.
Two new residents have appeared in the industrial park 'Great Stone', which will implement projects in the field of electronics and comprehensive logistics.
The press service of 'Great Stone' reports that one of the newcomers to the industrial park – the company with Chinese capital 'Global Trade Alliance' – plans to implement two high-tech import-substituting projects.
As part of the first project, it intends to produce customized server equipment aimed at Belarusian automotive manufacturers, with the prospect of producing industrial mini-computers for the development of data centers and cloud services.
The second project involves the creation of a full-cycle production of rim paper, with the prospect of producing paper for the food and medical industries, which is in demand at a number of domestic enterprises.
Another new resident of the park – LLC 'Eurasian Cross-Border Company for Managing Foreign Warehouses' (China) – will create an intelligent logistics distribution center on its territory.
The facility is to be equipped with a modern warehouse management system, as well as automated sorting.
The industrial park 'Great Stone' is a special economic zone created according to an intergovernmental agreement between the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Belarus.
The industrial park is being established in the Smolevichi district of the Minsk region near the National Airport 'Minsk'. Construction began in 2015.
The park is located 25 km from the capital of the Republic of Belarus, Minsk, next to the Berlin – Moscow highway. The concept of the park is to create an international eco-city with manufacturing, administrative, and social infrastructure. The industries are expected to have high export potential in the areas of: electronics and telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, fine chemicals, biotechnology, machine engineering, new materials, comprehensive logistics, e-commerce, storage and processing of large volumes of data, socio-cultural activities, as well as conducting scientific research, design, and technological work.
