The most popular digital tool in Latvia turned out to be the electronic signature

Life without an electronic signature in the business environment has become difficult. After experiencing a surge in popularity during the pandemic years, the e-signature is now used in four out of every five Latvian companies and is the most popular digital tool in offices.

In turn, among computer programs, the document management or business administration software is the most actively used, according to the annual study "Digital Portrait of a Manager."

"Eighty-two point eight percent of all surveyed companies use electronic signatures in their daily lives, and there is a simple explanation for this. This digital tool is convenient, works well, and speeds up the document turnover. Thanks to the electronic signature, companies can significantly save time, as there is no longer a need to travel to the office or to a partner for signing documents, and the necessity of sending printed and signed documents by mail or courier is eliminated," comments the results of the "Digital Portrait of a Manager" Viesturs Slaydins, the head of Jumis Pro, the company that conducted this research.

The e-address, or official "mailbox," where companies receive information from government institutions, is also quite popular. It is used by sixty-eight point three percent of respondents, which, however, is considered not a very good result, because theoretically, the e-address should be used by absolutely all companies; otherwise, successful communication with government institutions is hindered. The third most popular digital tool is the e-invoice, the mandatory use of which has been postponed, but it has already been implemented by sixty percent of all respondents. Online commerce is experiencing stable growth – a quarter of companies have created their e-store.

Among computer programs, the most in-demand is undoubtedly the document management or business administration system, which is used by sixty-two point eight percent of all companies. The second most popular is the human resource management system, implemented in forty-six point two percent of companies, while the enterprise management, accounting, or resource management system is used by forty-one point four percent of respondents. A quarter of those surveyed have adopted a business information or analytics tool, one-fifth work with a customer relationship management system, and about the same number have implemented a social media management system.

The "Digital Portrait of a Manager 2025" study was conducted in the fall of 2025, involving one hundred forty-five managers of Latvian companies, department heads, and employees.
