Most A320s Have Been Updated: Less Than 100 Aircraft Remain for Software Replacement

Due to the urgent software replacement, fewer than 100 A320 aircraft produced by the European aerospace company Airbus remain unready for flight on Monday, LETA reports citing AFP.

In a statement published on Monday, Airbus said that most A320 aircraft have already received the necessary software updates.

The company notes that software replacement remains necessary for fewer than 100 A320 aircraft.

It was previously reported that on Friday, Airbus issued a statement indicating that up to 6,000 A320 aircraft may need a software update. This raised concerns that hundreds of aircraft could be grounded for an extended period.

Airbus instructed its customers to take "immediate precautionary measures" following an analysis of a technical malfunction that occurred in October on a flight operated by American airline JetBlue.

However, several major European airlines reported that only a minor number of flights had to be canceled due to the software replacement, or that it was not required at all.
