The export of forest industry products decreased by 0.9% over eight months

In January-August of this year, Latvia exported forest industry products worth 2.266 billion euros, which is 0.9% less than in the same period of 2024, according to data from the Ministry of Agriculture.

Wood and wood products were exported during this period for a total of 2.003 billion euros (-0.5% compared to the same period last year), which accounts for 88.4% of the total export volume (in January-August 2024 - 88.1%).

The value of timber exports amounted to 589.234 million euros (+7.8%), fuel wood - 369.078 million euros (-12%), plywood - 248.762 million euros (+3.8%), and roundwood - 224.726 million euros (-16.1%).

The export of wooden furniture increased by 5.3% to 131.163 million euros, while the export of paper, cardboard, and products made from them decreased by 2.5% to 86.634 million euros.

The largest share of forest industry products in January-August was shipped to the United Kingdom (21.7%), Sweden (9.7%), and Lithuania (8%).

In January-August 2024, Latvia exported forest industry products worth 2.287 billion euros.
