In September of this year, the registered unemployment rate in Latvia was 4.7% of the economically active population, according to data from the State Employment Agency (SEA).
At the end of September, there were 41,108 unemployed registered with the State Employment Agency (SEA), which is 1,903 fewer than the previous month (43,011 unemployed).
The lowest level of registered unemployment in September was in the Riga region - 3.7% of the economically active population, which is 0.1 percentage points lower than the previous month. The highest level of registered unemployment was in Latgale - 9.7%, which is 0.3 percentage points lower.
In Kurzeme, the registered unemployment rate was 4.9% of the economically active population, which is 0.2 percentage points lower; in Zemgale - 4.4%, which is 0.2 percentage points lower; in Vidzeme - 4.2%, which is also 0.2 percentage points lower.
In 2024, the registered unemployment rate in Latvia was 5.3% of the economically active population.
