G7 Country Significantly Increased Purchases of Russian Fish

Russia increased fish exports to Japan by 15 percent.

In the first eight months of 2025, supplies of Russian fish and seafood to Japan increased by 15 percent in physical terms compared to January-August 2024, reaching 82,000 tons.

In monetary terms, the growth was 10 percent, amounting to 606 million dollars. It turned out that the export of surimi from pollock increased by 50 percent in physical terms and by 75 percent in value terms. Supplies of this product reached 16,000 tons, for which the Japanese side paid 41 million dollars. Additionally, this Asian country purchased 3,500 tons of pollock fillet for 13 million dollars.

At the same time, supplies of Kamchatka crab fell by 35 percent in physical terms.

The export of live sea urchins remained at the levels of the same period in 2024 in physical terms. In monetary terms, the growth was 15 percent. Furthermore, supplies of squid increased by 23 percent in physical terms.
