The dairy producer — the farm 'Zilūži', operating under the brand 'Grasbergs', has decided to cease the production of dairy products and ice cream, according to a statement published by the company on the Facebook platform, reports LETA.
"After long discussions and numerous options considered, we have made the decision to cease the production of dairy products and ice cream," the statement says.
The farm explains that this decision is related to the ongoing process of restructuring and improving efficiency. "This process requires great attention and full commitment. Everything we do, we want to do well, and at this moment our goal is to create a farm that will be transparent and efficient at all stages," they explain at 'Zilūži'.
Nevertheless, the farm expresses hope that this is a temporary suspension, and perhaps production will be able to resume after the winter season.
According to data from Firmas.lv, last year 'Zilūži' operated with a turnover of 2.188 million euros and a profit of 32,946 euros. The farm was registered in 1992, and its sole owner is Valts Grasbergs.
