The President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, stated that Canada could very well become part of the European Union. He shared his thoughts in an interview with the Canadian television channel CBC.
"I can imagine a larger EU, but whether Canada will be a part of it or not is up to Canada," said Stubb.
In his opinion, Canada's integration into the European Union is possible because the values upheld in the country are close to those of Europeans.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney stated back in June 2025 that his government is not considering the issue of joining the EU.
