In the last 24 hours, more than 20 commercial vessels passed through the Strait of Hormuz, two U.S. officials told The Wall Street Journal, according to LETA citing Meduza.

According to one source, among them were bulk carriers, container ships, and tankers heading to and from the Persian Gulf.

Some vessels were moving with their transponders turned off to reduce the risk of attacks from Iran.

The newspaper notes that shipping in the Strait of Hormuz is gradually recovering, although the volumes of commercial transportation are still significantly lower than the levels that existed before the war.

The U.S. Central Command claims that the blockade of Iranian ports has been completed.

"In less than 36 hours since the blockade was imposed, U.S. forces have completely halted Iran's economic maritime trade," said Admiral Brad Cooper.
