The Russian frigate 'Admiral Grigorovich' escorted sanctioned vessels through the English Channel

The Russian military frigate 'Admiral Grigorovich', accompanied by two civilian tankers, made a transit across the English Channel. According to the British publication The Guardian, the movement of the group was closely monitored by the Royal Navy auxiliary vessel RFA Tideforce.

The British side expressed particular concern over the fact that the Russian warship acted as a convoy for tankers that are under sanction pressure. A British military vessel followed the Russian group throughout the route across the strait, monitoring compliance with maritime protocols and recording the movement of objects.

The use of a military frigate as an escort for commercial vessels is viewed by military analysts as a show of force and an attempt by Moscow to ensure the security of its logistics chains in strategically important NATO waters.

According to official data, the passage took place in international waters; however, the UK Ministry of Defence emphasized that it is closely monitoring any movements of Russian vessels near its borders. The incident concluded without direct confrontations.
