Historian Janis Taurens critically assessed the foreign policy of the current head of the White House in an interview with the program "Brīvības bulvāris" (Boulevard of Freedom) on Latvian Radio and warned about the consequences of such a policy.

If, let’s say, a new order is being formed, and it has long been said that there should be many centers of power, not just one, then the other centers of power are not very sympathetic – Russia, China... In any case, looking from the perspective of our interests, it is unlikely that such a new order could emerge that would be beneficial for us.
